WELCOME TO HOLLIER SPORTS

At Hollier Sports, we believe the best football environments shape both the player and the person - because in reality, the two are inseparable. It’s not just the curriculum, the cones, or the drills that develop a young footballer, but the environment around them: the care, the connection, the expectations, the community. When players feel valued, supported, and genuinely cared for, they don’t just learn better - they grow faster, try harder, and enjoy it more.

We take football development seriously. Every session, every activity, every progression is intentionally designed by qualified, experienced coaches who understand long-term player development. Our curriculum follows a clear pathway from first touches all the way into competitive, advanced environments. Through high-engagement, age-appropriate, game-based training, we build footballers who are skilful, composed, brave, tactically aware, and confident enough to make an impact when it matters.

But true development runs deeper than technique. Our coaches invest in real relationships with players - learning who they are, what motivates them, and how to support them through challenges. This connection creates trust, belonging, and a safe space where players feel confident to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Just as importantly, we create a community and training enviroments where players feel connected to the people around them. Friendships, belonging, and positive teammate support play a massive role in confidence and enjoyment. When players feel comfortable with their teammates, encouraged by their peers, and proud to be part of something bigger, their football opens up in ways that drills alone can’t achieve. We teach values like teamwork, resilience, responsibility, leadership, and communication not as extras, but as part of everyday football. Players learn how to support each other, how to respond to mistakes, how to celebrate effort, and how to work together - skills that last far beyond the field.

THE BIG PICTURE

The best players are almost always good people.

Coaches at every level will tell you: character shows up in football - and it matters. Players with strong personal values develop faster, earn more opportunities, and go further in the game. When young athletes feel supported, challenged, and part of a positive community, their training naturally lifts. They become the kind of teammates others trust, the kind of players coaches love working with, and the kind of young people who thrive not only in football, but in school, friendships, and life.

That’s why our pathway develops football excellence and personal growth side by side. We’re not just training athletes - we’re shaping confident kids, thoughtful teammates, motivated learners, and grounded young footballers who can thrive on and off the pitch.

At Hollier Sports, great players and great people go hand-in-hand.
And we’re proud to walk that journey with every player who becomes part of our community.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Coach Dan.

I’m 21 years old and currently playing NPL football in Canberra, which keeps me right in the middle of the game and constantly learning. I started Hollier Sports back in Year 12, not because I had some big business plan, but because I genuinely loved coaching and wanted to create better football experiences for younger players in the ACT.

I care about the environment players are training in. I want sessions to be something players look forward to - a place where they feel supported, challenged, and comfortable being themselves. I pride myself on genuinely supporting my players and their families. I care about getting to know each player, understanding their journey, and helping families feel confident, part of something bigger and informed along the way.

Balancing playing and coaching has shaped how I coach. I know what it feels like to be a player, I know the pressures that come with football, and I know how important the right support, guidance, and a real role model can be. That’s what I try to bring into every session at Hollier Sports.

I’m really proud of what Hollier Sports has become so far, and even more excited about where it’s heading.

THE HOLLIER SPORTS STORY

Hollier Sports started because I wanted my younger brother to have a different football experience to the one I had growing up here in Canberra.

I loved the game, but I mostly didn’t enjoy the environments I trained in. There was no real pathway or support network, and very little guidance around where I was heading or how to keep improving. My parents wanted to help, but they often weren’t sure how to support me or what the next steps should be. Training felt uncomfortable rather than exciting, and over time that took away from the enjoyment of playing. The pressure and stress around performance and making mistakes only added to that feeling, and I often felt nervous about turning up rather than looking forward to it.

When my brother began his own football journey, I knew I wanted something better for him - and for families going through the same experience. I wanted him to be part of an environment where players feel supported and understood, where parents have clarity, and where there’s a clear pathway that helps everyone know where they’re heading.

I started by coaching my brother and a small group of local players, focusing on creating positive, engaging sessions built around strong relationships and clear development. It quickly became clear how much the environment and structure matter. When players feel supported, and families feel informed, confidence grows and football becomes something players genuinely enjoy again.

That belief is what Hollier Sports is built on today - creating football environments in Canberra that provide real support, clear pathways, and long-term development for both great players and good people.

OUR TEAM

At Hollier Sports, our coaching team is made up of people who genuinely care about players and the environments they’re part of. We’re building a coaching group that values quality football development, strong relationships, and positive, supportive training environments.

Our coaches are carefully selected not just for their football knowledge and experience, but for the way they connect with players. We’re proud to be building a team of coaches from different backgrounds, with varied experiences and ways of connecting with players, while all sharing the same Hollier Sports values and high standards. They understand that development looks different for every player and that confidence, trust, and enjoyment play a huge role in long-term growth. Each coach is committed to mentoring players, setting clear expectations, and creating environments where players feel safe to challenge themselves and make mistakes.

We work closely as a team to stay aligned in how we coach, communicate, and support our players. With shared values, ongoing education and professional development, and a clear development pathway, our coaching crew is focused on helping every player feel supported, confident, and excited to train.

Together, we’re creating an environment where great players and good people grow side by side.

Our curriculum follows a deliberate pathway that guides players from their first touches all the way into competitive, high-level environments. Players learn through high-engagement, age appropriate and predominantly game-based practices that mirror real world football moments. We focus on creating intelligent, confident players who can read the game, solve problems, and express themselves with the ball. We’re not just running fun activities - we’re developing footballers.Footballers who are skilful, composed, brave, and tactically aware.Footballers who can step confidently into games knowing that they can be the difference maker.

Developing Great People

At Hollier Sports, coaching goes far beyond football. We build real relationships with our players so they feel seen, supported, and safe to grow. When young people have coaches who genuinely care about them, they open up, try harder, and develop the confidence to take on challenges both on and off the pitch. Our environment is built on trust and mentorship. Coaches connect with players as individuals - learning their personalities, what pushes them, understanding their needs, and helping them navigate tough moments with patience and clarity. We teach values like teamwork, responsibility, resilience, and respect as part of our structured programs - consistently, positively, and through real actions in every session. Most importantly, we help players develop a healthy mindset. They learn how to handle mistakes, how to communicate well, how to support teammates, and how to take pride in their effort. These lessons last far longer than any drill or technique, and they shape who our players become as people. The coaches that make the real difference - the ones that connect and value and care - are the ones your player will remember in 20 years.
