WELCOME TO HOLLIER SPORTS

At Hollier Sports, we believe the best football environments shape both the player and the person - because in reality, the two are inseparable. It’s not just the curriculum, the cones, or the drills that develop a young footballer, but the environment around them: the care, the connection, the expectations, the community. When players feel valued, supported, and genuinely cared for, they don’t just learn better - they grow faster, try harder, and enjoy it more.

We take football development seriously. Every session, every activity, every progression is intentionally designed by UEFA A and FA B licensed and experienced coaches who understand long-term player development. Our curriculum follows a clear pathway from first touches all the way into competitive, advanced environments. Through high-engagement, age-appropriate, game-based training, we build footballers who are skilful, composed, brave, tactically aware, and confident enough to make an impact when it matters.

But true development runs deeper than technique. Our coaches invest in real relationships with players - learning who they are, what motivates them, and how to support them through challenges. This connection creates trust, belonging, and a safe space where players feel confident to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Just as importantly, we create a community and training enviroments where players feel connected to the people around them. Friendships, belonging, and positive teammate support play a massive role in confidence and enjoyment. When players feel comfortable with their teammates, encouraged by their peers, and proud to be part of something bigger, their football opens up in ways that drills alone can’t achieve. We teach values like teamwork, resilience, responsibility, leadership, and communication not as extras, but as part of everyday football. Players learn how to support each other, how to respond to mistakes, how to celebrate effort, and how to work together - skills that last far beyond the field.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Developing Great Players and Good People go together.

Hollier Sports started because I wanted my younger brother to have a different football experience to the one I had growing up here in Canberra. I loved the game, but I mostly didn't enjoy the environments I trained in. There wasn't a real pathway, no role models, mistakes carried more pressure than they should have, and I'd often turn up nervous rather than looking forward to it. I flew under the radar.

That's not the experience I wanted for him, or for any player who walks into one of our sessions. The best football environments shape both the player and the person, because the two are inseparable. What develops a young footballer isn't just the drills and cones, it's the environment around them: the care, the connection, the community. When kids feel valued and supported, they grow faster, try harder, and enjoy it more.

The best players we've worked with are almost always good people too. Character shows up in football, and the kids who carry it develop faster, earn more opportunities, and go further in the game. That's why we coach the player and the person at the same time, through the same curriculum, with the same coaches, on the same Pathway.

OUR CURRICULUM

What we develop, and how it builds over time.

Our own Hollier Sports curriculum is designed by UEFA A and FA B licensed coaches, and it's built specifically for kids aged 5 to 15.

Every session covers three things: football skills, life skills, and physical literacy. All three shape how we plan, both long-term across the Pathway and inside every single session, right down to how long an activity runs, where the coaching emphasis falls, and which drills we use.

  1. Football skills are the technical and tactical aspects of the work, and we coach ball mastery, passing, control, finishing, defending, and reading the game across every level of the Pathway. Building skilful, composed, brave players who can read the game and solve problems under real pressure.
  2. Life skills, shaping good people through mentoring and value sets that change at each level of our Pathway, building character that shows up on the field and off it.
  3. Physical literacy, Building the athletic foundation and teaching players how to move well, with strength, coordination, balance, and body intelligence developed through real football situations.

Within our long-term Player Pathway, players are grouped by age and readiness (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Academy), and they move through when they're ready, not on a fixed schedule. Coaches make the call on when a player moves up, and families get an end-of-term report that shows where their player is sitting within the class environment, what's been improving, and what's next.

OUR COACHING

Our training environments are built to develop the player and the person together. The care, the connection, and the community within a session matter as much as the drills themselves, because players do their best work when they feel valued, supported, and like they belong. That sense of belonging is what gives a player the comfort to take risks, make mistakes, and try the harder things, which is where the real growth happens.

Coaches invest in real relationships with every player they work with. They learn who a kid is, what motivates them, what they're working on, and how and when to push them. The judgement matters: some kids need to be challenged hard to bring out their best, others need patience and steady encouragement, and reading the difference, kid by kid and moment by moment, is what good coaching actually is. It shows up in small, deliberate ways: a quiet word after a drill, an adjustment to give a struggling player a win, an honest conversation with a player who's coasting. Coaches deliver our qualified curriculum and, just as deliberately, become the kind of role models our players actually look up to, and are excited to see each session.

Every coach on the team is selected for both football knowledge and the way they connect with our players. We're proud of building a team with different backgrounds and styles, all sharing the same Hollier Sports values and high standards. The team trains together, stays aligned, and keeps the experience consistent across every coach, every session, every level. Together, we’re creating an environment where great players and good people grow side by side.
