Coaching Style

In our Yellow Girls Class, the focus is on creating a warm, welcoming environment where every player feels safe, supported, and excited to give things a go. Coaches use simple, positive language that celebrates effort and bravery, not just getting things right. Activities are fun, playful, and game-based, with lots of ball touches so all players feel involved and confident. Mistakes are treated as a normal and important part of learning, and we gently encourage quieter players to step in, try new things, and take on small leadership moments. Our goal is for every girl to feel seen, valued, and proud of herself each week.

Methodology

Yellow Class sessions centre around fun, movement, and imaginative play to help young girls build a positive first connection with football. Everything is game-based, allowing players to explore, experiment, and grow their confidence with the ball while learning through action rather than long instructions.

Expected Outcomes

In the Yellow Girls Class, players begin building the foundations of confident footballers and positive teammates. They’ll grow comfortable dribbling, passing, moving with the ball, and playing simple small-sided games - all in a space designed to help them feel brave, included, and excited to try new things. More importantly, they’ll learn to make decisions, work with teammates, and express themselves without fear of mistakes. By the end of the Yellow Class journey, players develop early game understanding, growing confidence, and a genuine love for showing up, trying hard, and being part of a supportive team.

Progression - Where to From Here

As players grow in confidence and skill, the next step in our Development pathway is the Green Class, where they’ll start learning how to use their skills with more purpose and awareness in game situations.
